This piece was inspired by hurricane katrina, and symbolizes a new beginning for the city's hit

the underside signifies the old city wiped away by water and wind, and the top side with the tree symbolizes growth of a new city saying the sun will shine on a new hope, a new city, and new growth

anyways, I am not sure if I am finished with it and would like some input as to the composition, colors and text

thanks for any help

can be bought here: [link]

Lovely. I worked with Katrina Relief and seeing pieces dedicated to it means a lot.

As for suggestions...if you want to emphasize the new city maybe add a bit of some color to make it bolder and stand out instead of blending with the old...unless the blend is the idea you so desired in which case great work!

yeah they have one left for $2000 - but all the profit goes to red cross

however, if you want one you can contact me personally and I have been known to make individual prints

I honestly loved this. Having grown up in New Orleans, to see something like this actually means quite a lot. I personally liked the font as well, but thats really personal tastes and whatnot. Overall a very good job.

 My family in general did. But no lives lost, everything else can be rebuilt, lives can be started over. So the family as a whole considers itself lucky. And we are.

nice concept and i love the texture u applied to the background. The most fantastic thing is that I can take a look at the piece itself and know right away what you're trying to tell me. It's something that a lot of people tend to overlook. I'm not really feeling the font though.

mm.. maybe something more bold and a bit drippy to match ur upside down city, and what if u made it parallel to the silhoutte? It's not so much the font but the style of the typography. Anyways, u could just play around. hope that helps. (:
